Art’s invitation to get the flowers for the wall
Red poppies are fascinating: on the one hand, their red coloring makes them strong and brave, and on the other hand, their special design makes them easily recognizable, as beautiful as they are delicate and vulnerable. The complexity of the poppy is also reflected in its meaning in different cultures: it ranges from romantic love and passion to sleep and transience, memory and comfort or peace and reconstruction.
For this vertical floral painting with its life-affirming character, I naturally mixed red and green tones on my palette, as well as yellow, blue, violet, pink, magenta, orange, white, sienna and dark brown colors.
During some beautiful walks in nature, I love to gather inspiration for pictures like Red Poppies L 2 and implement them as a dynamic, abstract painting. For me, it is less about reproducing what can be seen in the painting - rather, the feeling that is connected to what is seen is in the foreground.
