I probably developed the idea for the motif "Vincent meets Mona Lisa" because I like Vincent van Gogh as a person and painter: I find it remarkable that he lived and painted so authentically. He is very much himself remained loyal and was not irritated by social or financial alternatives. I also find a quote from Vincent van Gogh remarkable: "I dream my paintings and paint my dreams." I can also confirm this for myself, because the creative moment of painting is more like a dreamlike state for me, as I largely ignore the everyday and realistic surroundings and concentrate on my emotional situation.
